Join the action of this "skins" format game, where each end brings a brand-new chance to win!. At Leaside, the skins games are six ends each, with an extra end if required. Mixed

p.m., Sunday at 1:00 p.m., Sunday at 3:00 p.m., Sunday at 5:15 p.m. - individual, couples, or team entry. his section, one of the largest and most popular mixed sections in the Toronto area, had 78 teams in 2005-2006. The section has 10 divisions based on the level of competition so that teams play against teams of equal skill or ability. Teams play a 21-game schedule and are also guaranteed two playoff games. The divisions are adjusted three times each season, based each team's performance within its division.
This league combines the best of competitive curling and social fun. To prove it, the mixed section runs one of the city's best social bonspiels, The Lovecraft (third weekend in January). Another very popular bonspiel is The Snowball (first weekend in December), which is also a Melitta Sunshine Spiel qualifier.
No experience is required to join this fun section where you can learn as you play, with no pressure. In the past (depending on interest) we have established a "skill-development" division with 8 teams composed entirely of curlers with fewer than two years of curling experience. This program featured instruction and coaching by volunteer members for the first seven weeks and worked so well, that we will consider running it again in 2006-2007 if there is sufficient interest.
You are welcome to sign up for the Mixed Section as a full team. If you do not have a full team, we will assign you to a team while considering your position preference (Lead, Second, Third, or Skip).

mornings, 9:30 a.m. - individual entry - tag draw
Both tag draws (no pressure to participate every curling day) are open to individual entry for men 50 years of age or older. Generally, curlers participate on both Mondays and Fridays and accumulate points towards the play-offs in April. However, the most important aspect of this section is the camaraderie; our curlers have a great ability to enjoy each other's company on and off of the ice.
The easiest way to enjoy winter -- a little exercise and lots of companionship. No curling experience? That's OK -- we will show you. This is the best deal in town!

10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - individual entry - instruction and games
Experienced curlers from the Leaside Curling Club membership provide excellent instruction and organize weekly games for juniors. One or more teams will be selected to represent Leaside in city-wide and province-wide junior curling tournaments. Both beginner and experienced junior curlers are welcome! (We are looking for volunteers to help ease the load, whether it is every week or every other week. Please contact the Club Manager if you are able to spare a few hours a week.)

Thursday afternoons, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - individual entry - instruction and games
Most of the top curlers of today started when they were this age! Using lighter and smaller curling rocks, kids can get a good start on learning the game, while having fun and getting winter-time exercise. Experienced Leaside curlers volunteer their time and attention to this section because they know that the game is fun and the exercise is great for kids. Give your kids a head-start on Canada's fastest growing participation sport.
